Ogbogg

Character Design, Modelling, Texturing

Meet Ogbogg, captured and enslaved, Ogbogg's journey is marked by a broken horn - a battle scar that tells a story of survival and defiance. Forced to labor in the kitchens, he conceals his true strength and cunning, secretly plotting his escape. This end to end pipeline showcase highlights my expertise across the entire 3D pipeline, bringing Ogbogg's intense emotions and detailed textures to life.

Responsibilties: All aspects

Software: Blender (Rendered in Cycles)

Date: 2024

High-Poly

This character was blocked out and sculpted in Blender, resulting in a highly detailed mesh that captures intricate details, effectively highlighting his backstory and difficult past.

Low-Poly

Optimised for implementation into game engines the character was retopologised to reduce the face count. Ensuring that the model maintains its detailed and intricate design while being efficient and lightweight for real-time rendering.

Wire Render

The wire render highlights my process of going from high to low poly. Retaining intricate details while optimizing for performance. Clean topology and reduced polygon count ensure smooth animation and seamless integration into a game engine.

Textured

The character was then unwrapped, baked and painted. Using normal, cavity and metallic maps to carry over as much of the detail from the high poly to the low poly model.

Animation

Uploaded to mixamo and re-imported back into Blender. Key animations were selected and then weight painted in order to optimise the movements.

Unity Import

This end to end pipeline was completed by importing the character to Unity and preparing an animation controller. Displayed here in a downloaded scene, the character was staged and the camera set up to record the final product.
