About Me
I’m Alice Rousseau, an animation artist specialising in character and creature animation for games and cinematic experiences. Currently based in Manchester, I spent seven years living and working in Shanghai, where I developed a broad creative practice and gained experience across a variety of professional environments.
I recently completed an MA in Character and Creature Animation at the University of Hertfordshire, where I developed my skills in body mechanics, locomotion, character performance and visual storytelling. My work spans keyframe animation, motion capture refinement and implementation in Unreal Engine 5, exploring how strong animation fundamentals translate into cinematic performances and responsive gameplay. I’m particularly drawn to making characters feel alive through believable movement, expressive acting and the details that reveal their personality.
Alongside animation, my background spans branding, illustration and digital media, as well as team management in fast-paced professional environments. These experiences have strengthened my ability to collaborate, adapt and bring creative ideas to life as part of a team.
I’m always looking for opportunities to explore new techniques, collaborate with other creators, and push the boundaries of what animated characters and worlds can express. Thank you for taking the time to view my work. Feel free to explore my portfolio below or get in touch.
